Multi purpose cotton muslin wrap

Cost me. NZ $9.50 approximately for 1.2m (you will also need matching thread)

Where to buy. Spotlight stores or your local fabric store

Smile from the planet. Priceless

Tips. Spotlight always have sales on fabric by the metre, I usually wait for these as you can get 30-40% off which makes a huge difference especially if you buy a few fabrics.

What is it?

A 100% cotton muslin multi purpose wrap (120cm x 120cm a big square)

Use as:

  • A swaddle for new born baby

  • A lightweight summer blanket for baby

  • A breast feeding cover for yourself and baby if out and about

  • A scarf for yourself once no longer needed for baby

  • A head wrap for yourself once no longer need for baby

Why did i make it?

I have made 2 of these for friends new babies and now I have my own beb growing I made 5 for myself. Spotlight have a range of colours and prints- also suited to not knowing what gender you are having like me.

I stitch mine with French rolled hems 1cm wide. Muslin fabric is super easy for this type of hem.

*if you would like any tips on sewing this feel free to message me.

These wraps sell in the shops starting at around $39.95. I managed to get fabric to make 5 wraps for $47.50- just over the price of one!
